Disability Belongs™ Entertainment Lab 2025

Kimberly Manky
Kimberly Manky (she/her) is a writer working in both features and TV with multiple projects currently in development. She grew up in a very small town in Northern British Columbia with the highest violent crime rate in Canada (not her fault).
After working in education for several years, Kimberly moved to England where she studied Screenwriting at Oxford, Contextual Theology at St. Mellitus College, and received a Master’s Degree (Honors) from the University of London in Screenwriting and Narrative Fiction. Her comedic TV pilots, specs, and features have placed in numerous screenwriting competitions, including the Austin Film Festival, Final Draft’s Big Break, Screencraft, PAGE, CineStory, and The Academy’s Nicholl Fellowship in Screenwriting.
Kimberly aims to combat stigmas around mental health and disabilities, and bring awareness and understanding to these very common human experiences. She is a Fellow of the RespectAbility Entertainment Lab (2022), a Mentee of the 1in4 Coalition Writers Program (2023), and an alumna of the Canadian Film Centre’s Writer’s Lab (2023). In 2024, Kimberly was named one of the Austin Film Festival’s 25 Screenwriters To Watch and featured in MovieMaker Magazine.
Fun Fact: Kimberly was once in a sketch with Conan O’Brien, Andy Richter and her comedy hero, Amy Poehler.
She is repped by the Jennifer Hollyer Agency.
