Disability Belongs™ Entertainment Lab 2025

Zachary Brenner
Zachary Brenner is a Writer, Director, and Producer based in Los Angeles. His work spans multiple genres, often exploring desperate characters who seek meaningful connection or catharsis within worlds that aren’t designed for them. He uses his lived experience with chronic illness to inform his stories and characters.
He has worked on several Hollywood productions such as Dunkirk, Us, West Side Story, Jack Ryan, Finch, 1917, The Fabelmans, and – fulfilling a childhood dream – Spongebob. After working at Amblin Partners in physical production for three years, he’s now expanding his skillsets into brand marketing at IMAX.
His feature and TV writing have been recognized by various contests and programs, including the 2024 Humanitas New Voices Fellowship, Coverfly’s Redlist, The Screencraft Sci-fi and Fantasy contest, and the WeScreenplay TV contest.
Through his disability advocacy work, he’s committed to expanding opportunities and access for diverse, disabled creatives across the entertainment industry.
In his free time, he can often be found learning various Rachmaninoff pieces on his piano and watching way too many cooking videos.
