Liz Galalis

Liz Galalis is an LA-based comedy writer and performer by way of New York.

From a young age, Galalis was funny, but she did NOT have a passion for comedy. She wanted to be a serious actress. And at her serious acting school, she learned that she sucked at improv. This motivated her to sign up for classes at The People’s Improv Theater, and, from that point forward, she was hooked. She became heavily involved in the NYC comedy community and produced and performed improv and sketch all over New York.

Since moving to Los Angeles, Galalis has worked as writers’ room support staff on shows such as The Joel McHale Show, When Nature Calls with Helen Mirren, Veronica Mars, iZombie, and American Horror Story. Additionally, Galalis was selected from hundreds of applicants to participate in the 2022 Women in Film Mentorship Program. She is the screenwriter of the award-winning short film Fence Sitter, which premiered on the festival circuit in 2023. Galalis currently writes for the hit Wondery podcast, Scamfluencers. You can see Galalis perform improv and stand-up all over LA.

In 2019, while working as an assistant, Galalis acquired a disability due to a genetic disorder. This enlightened her to the societal challenges disabled people face, especially in Hollywood. It’s now her mission to increase positive representation of disabled people in the media. No small task, but Galalis is tenacious. She once sued an escape room (and won.)
