In 2019, RespectAbility is seeking proposals for speakers, topics and presentations for three of our most important events of the year.
First up, to build on the continuing success of our annual Capitol Hill Summit, coming up this year on July 22nd, we are soliciting proposals for panels, panelists and presentations. Have an idea for a panel for a nation-wide audience of disability leaders, non-profit professionals, Hollywood insiders and policy-makers? Then send in your proposal today!
Second, on August 6th, we will be hosting our first ever Inclusive Philanthropy Conference in Los Angeles. This event, co-sponsored by Southern California Grantmakers, will focus on promoting greater inclusion of people with disabilities across the world of philanthropy. Want to address an audience of leaders distributing millions of philanthropic dollars? Send us your ideas! Please note that you cannot solicit for an individual program, this is all about paradigm-shifting ideas that can lift up people with disabilities.
Third, since RespectAbility was founded in 2013, we have regularly hosted online learning opportunities to connect professionals in the field with thought leaders across the country. Our webinars have reached an annual nationwide audience of over 3,000 registered attendees in all 50 states. To build on the past success of our webinar programming RespectAbility is putting out a request for proposals from our friends and partners across the disability community. Want to showcase best practices to an audience eager to put those lessons into practice? Do you have a new book, movie, show, or other content that people with disabilities should know about? Do you have something special to share to advance opportunities for people with disabilities from other marginalized groups (i.e. people of color, LGBTQ+, immigrants)? Let us know!
Suggested Themes for Proposals
RespectAbility is excited to receive proposals that fit with our organizational mission of fighting stigmas and advancing opportunities for people with disabilities. Likewise, we are especially eager for presenters or presentations that illuminate the disability elements involved with the social determinants of health, education equality and criminal justice reform.
We have a special interest in proposals that focus on intersectionality issues such as the experiences of people of color with disabilities, English language learners with disabilities, LGBTQ+ people with disabilities, or immigrants with disabilities. We are also looking for ideas on how people with disabilities can successfully start their own businesses.
These presentations cannot solicit business or funding. These are learning opportunities for the common good.
