Looking at Montgomery County provides a valuable example of what committed leaders can do. Did you know that more than 50 percent of people with disabilities living in Montgomery County are employed? Just as states like South Dakota, North Dakota and Iowa are great examples of how to achieve great outcomes at the state level, Montgomery County is a model of how local leaders can move the needle on jobs for people with disabilities.

Speaker Bio:

Ms. Gallalee is a Commissioner serving on the Montgomery County Commission for People with Disabilities. She served as the Chair of the Commission when voters approved the Charter Amendment for hiring people with disabilities or special hiring authority for people with disabilities/disabled veterans. She is a graduate of the University of Maryland and works for the Federal Government as a Business Process improvement Specialist (Lean Six Sigma Blackbelt). Throughout her career, she has been an advocate for people with disabilities and she provided many with her insight on a wide variety of issues. As a person partnered with an assistance dog, Trish has worked educate the on the use of assistance dogs.
